Barron KARES: Partnering with YWCA Bellingham this September

This September, Barron Heating AC Electrical & Plumbing is shining a spotlight on YWCA Bellingham through their Barron KARES program — a community initiative built on the values of Kindness, Appreciation, Response, Empathy, and Service.

What is Barron KARES?

Each month, Barron Heating selects a nonprofit or charity that resonates with their team and community. For every select purchase — like tankless water heaters, heat pumps, solar installations, and generators — Barron donates $110 to the featured organization.

110 reflects the wisdom of Barron owner John Barron’s mentor, who always said, “Go above and beyond your call of duty — push past 100, give 110% every time.” This commitment to exceeding expectations is the foundation of Barron KARES and a guiding principle across their work.

Why YWCA Bellingham?

For more than a century, YWCA Bellingham has been a place of refuge and resilience for women and children in Whatcom County. Since 1906, we’ve opened our doors to those experiencing housing insecurity, offering not only safe shelter but also the stability, dignity, and community needed to rebuild.

Our historic Forest Street residence has provided support since 1915, and in early 2025 we expanded that legacy by opening a second shelter to meet the growing needs of women and children in crisis.

At the heart of all we do is our mission: eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Partnering with Barron KARES gives us another opportunity to live out that mission and to shine a light on the power of community care.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We are deeply grateful to Barron Heating AC Electrical & Plumbing for choosing YWCA Bellingham as their September Barron KARES partner. Your commitment to giving 110% doesn’t just show up in the homes you serve — it shows up in the way you care for your community.

By spotlighting our work and dedicating a portion of your sales to support women and children experiencing housing insecurity, you are helping us extend stability, safety, and hope where it’s needed most. Together, we are creating pathways for women to rebuild their lives with dignity and for families to find their footing again.

From all of us at YWCA Bellingham: thank you for standing with us in the fight to eliminate racism and empower women. Your partnership makes a difference every single day.
