Volunteer

The YWCA has many volunteer opportunities within our organization.
If you are interested in becoming more involved, please fill out our volunteer application and e-mail it to intern@ywcabellingham.org or bring it to our main office, 1026 N. Forest St.

Back to Work Boutique

This program  helps women in need find professional clothing for interviews and new jobs, along with every day clothing necessary for navigating life.

Back to Work Boutique volunteers are trained to sort clothing and act as fashion consultants.  Time commitment and days can vary, but we are looking for someone who can commit to at least two hours at a time.

Ideal candidates have excellent interpersonal skills, patience, sensitivity, and the ability to work with women from a variety of backgrounds.

Social Media and Marketing

Help us get the word out about the YWCA! We are in need of a volunteer to assist with our Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Ideal candidates should be tech-savvy, reliable, personable, and align with the mission of the YWCA.

Fundraising

Every year, the YWCA hosts fundraisers to honor our community, spread awareness about our mission, and gain funds to support our housing programs.

Fundraising volunteer opportunities are available in the preparation and execution of annual fundraisers.

Maintenance and Handy Person

Our 114 year old building is beautiful, but often in need of repairs. If you are a talented handy person, please apply or call our main office!

Board of Directors

YWCA Bellingham Board members are needed to provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance.  The YWCA has the only transitional housing program available for single women in Whatcom County, providing them with a safe and supportive place to stay while connecting them with the appropriate resources to get their lives back on track and become self-supporting. If your values include empowering women and eliminating racism, this is an extraordinary opportunity for you.
